A Family Day Out

altonlaugh picture Diana loved taking the young Princes on casual family days out. Alton Towers, in the English midlands, was always a favourite.
Diana and her party would try to arrive unannounced. She preferred to pay for all of her party, turning down complimentary tickets. They would then tour the park, queuing for the rides and burgers along with the rest of the public and generally having a good time.
In this picture they have just finished the log flume, which is popular with just about everyone and getting wet is part of the fun.

One of the main concerns about the Princes' after Diana's death was that they would miss out on this sort of contact with real life, something that Diana made sure that they were exposed to.
